What this site is, and what it is not.
Read this before you use anything here to make a decision.
Informational only
Everything on this site is written for general education. It is not personalised advice, it is not a recommendation to buy or sell anything, and it is not an offer or solicitation to sell securities or insurance. Reading it does not make you my client and does not create an advisory or agency relationship.
Insurance terms vary
Life and disability contracts differ by carrier, by product, and by what has been filed and approved in Texas. Definitions, exclusions, riders, and renewal terms are not standard across the market. The only terms that govern your coverage are the ones printed in your own policy.
Hypothetical figures are illustrative
Premiums, balances, and allocations shown here are hypothetical and are used to make arithmetic visible. They are not quotes, not offers, and not tied to any carrier or product. Your own numbers will differ with age, health, underwriting, and the state of issue.
Historical and pooled figures are not expectations
Where historical or pooled figures appear, they describe what happened, not what anyone should expect. Private-market figures are typically internal rates of return on drawn capital, reported by managers, and survivorship-biased; public-market figures are index total returns. The two are different statistics and cannot be compared like for like. Past performance does not predict future results.
This site is personal
This is my own writing, published in my own name. It is not the website of Verus Financial Group, it is not reviewed or endorsed by any firm, and no firm is responsible for its contents. Nothing here should be read as a statement by any employer or affiliate.
Check the documents, and ask your own advisers
Before you act, read the governing documents — the policy, the illustration, the limited partnership agreement, the subscription documents, the prospectus. Then talk to your own investment adviser, insurance agent, attorney, and CPA about your specific situation. They can see facts about you that this site cannot.
Dates
Pages that contain numbers carry a last-reviewed date. Figures are accurate as of that date and are not updated continuously. Tax figures, rates, and regulatory references change; confirm current numbers with the primary source before relying on them.
